PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for off-loading rolls of paper or chipboard up to 74” wide and 60” OD.
• Set up and operate the wind end of the extrusion coating machine.
• Responsible for inspecting the material as it is running, make minor adjustments and inform the Team Lead or the CMR Operator of any quality discrepancies throughout the production run.
• Operate over-head crane to maneuver rolls of paper.
• Follow Standard Work and Operating Procedures established by the company.
• Participate in continuous improvement processes and Tier 1 meetings.
• Cut cardboard cores needed for production schedule.
• Verify quality standards are being met and perform quality checks.
• Fill out quality paperwork.
• Call out and identify discrepant material.
• Perform machine set-up and changeovers.
• Label WIP and finished material.
• Perform 5S and daily maintenance, PM tasks for machine.
• Assist with die cleanings.
• Stock support materials.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to multitask and work in a face-paced environment.
• Able to lift 25 lbs. routinely & 75 lbs. occasionally.
• Available for overtime, before and after shifts and weekends.
• Organized and able to read and follow instructions (Job Instructions/SOP’s).
• Ability to work in a team environment but is self-motivated.
• Ability to rotate to other positions and perform all tasks required for each position with training.
• Perform other job duties as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• GED or equivalent required.
• Able to read a tape measure, micrometer, thickness gauge, and other measuring tools.
• Attention to detail in the workplace.
• 2-3 years of manufacturing experience and/or extrusion coating experience recommended.
• The position requires a minimum 2-week training period and certification before being able to fully perform the 1W Operator job duties.

Crane.

CHEMICALS USED:

Die Soap for die cleaning process. Cleaning Solution for sanitizing workstation.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Environment:

Enclosed structure with moderate temperatures ranging from 55 degrees to 100 degrees.   Higher temperatures near the oven for short periods of time.   Noise levels up to 94db.  All work is performed at the normal standing level.
